The wineamker of St.Andrea Winery is György Lorincz, probably the nicest and kindest person in the region. He has a harmonious life with wife and four children and recreates this harmony with his wines. The consumers and the profession appreciate his fine and modern wines made in the style of Eger - having a nice acidity, transparent, non-jammy even if it is full-bodied, often mineral and intense.
After arriving to Egerszalók to the St.Andrea Winery you can enjoy a nice welcome drink. Then we go down the wine cellar to see how hungarian wine making. Producing red and white wines from the same area is a particularly challenging task. St.Andrea Winery would like to create terroir-specific character wines based on traditions and at the same time, follow the requirements of today's quality winemaking. Old varieties, like Olaszrizling, Hárslevel, Furmint, Kadarka and Kékfrankos take priority here. The wine makers seek to know more about their terroirs and parcels to improve their cultivation and also to adjust the steps of their winemaking according to the different varieties.
THE HEALTHY THERMAL WATERS
Saliris Resort Spa is an invented, compound word meaning "salt rainbow". It refers to the salt hill that has become a symbol of Egerszalók, and also to the diversity that the Resort offers.
These thermal springs are erupting deep from the ground, the water run-off is creating an iconic limestone hill, which over the years has come to be known as "salt hill." The 65-68 C medicinal water is rich in mineral content and continually builds jagged and white formations.
The medicinal water of calcium, magnesium, hydrogen, carbonate also contains sodium and a significant amount of metasilicic acid, and has been ranked as one of the best in the sulphuric medicinal waters category. It's a sight unique to Europe, with similar natural formations found only in two other places in the world, at Pamukkale in the Asian part of Turkey and in Yellowstone National Park in the United States. The first well was drilled in 1961 in search of oil and natural gas, with the drilling of a second well taking place in 1987.

We had such a great time, Attila is an incredible guide. The wines of Eger are something to try out, you can feel the mineral influence. The baths were perfect for such an intense day!

Wine and relax
I took my husband as he is so into wines I was sure he would enjoy it. This is a place with producers that are making the difference. The wines are innovative I must day, very good quality of white wines. The way is a bit long and we were very tired by the end but it was worth it all the way.
