People & food

Like a heart beating many different bloods, Hungary stands out in the middle of Europe, surrounded by 7 countries and nourished by a mix of people and cultures that dive into every hungarian dish. They welcome all these rhythms and their food is an expression of this amazing variety. Local cooks have become masters preparing food from outside the region, like italian, spanish, turkish or arab cuisines.

Survival is in hungarians DNA, so they are always ready to overcome every situation and, despite they speak one of the most difficult languages in the world, they have made of food one of their greatest weapons to make you feel at home wherever you go. For them, every meal is a celebration, so you would surely find having palinka and singing out loud with the best of your voices.

Loyal and strong, hungarian gastronomy is known for its consistency and also because hungarians keep recipes and ways of mixing ingredients for centuries. In the past, kings and royalty were also eating the same sort of soups and heavy dishes. However, despite the heaviness of their main local recipes, you will easily find home-cultivating creations and originations of healthy food in any corner.

Food made with love

We love hungarian food made with love. The main ingredients of Hungarian food are tejföl, pepper, paprika, vegetables, all sorts of onions and garlic, which they combine with bread. Also, potatoe, cabbage and curd and cottage chess. And one more: the knowledge and love of locals playing with all of them.

Hungary can be divided in 2 main parts, comprising the north and east parts on one side, and the west and south side on the other. Hungarians from the east and north have always been restless minds whose wonderful creations are difficult to find in other parts of the country. The East and South parts of Hungary are highly influenced by border neighbours. The strategic location of a big lake and the fish we find in it, make russians and other foreigners come up to enjoy Hungarian real flavour.

Budapest is a vibrant city, full of big markets and Street food. But if your heart is asking you for deeper connections, then you need to travel to the countryside, where families will open their homes and hearts for you. Just tell them you like what they are creating and you will be the best guest, and the most gifted person in the party.
